Important ? Spinal Cord Stimulator?
Question:
Answers:
I've had my spinal cord stimulator for about a year and a half. My SCS has helped with my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome/Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy a lot. It relieves 100% of my pain when it works properly, but because of my keloid scarring condition I've had a lot of problems with my leads and lead placement. Since my SCS does not work properly right now I have about 60-80% pain relief which is still incredible for me because it allows me to live my life! I do have the paddle leads which have helped a lot with my lead movment due to my scar tissue, but in my last surgery they didn't realize that my spinal cord is slightly twisted so since my leads are placed in the center of my spine, they stimulate the left side of my body when I need it in my right leg so I may have another surgery to correct that, but as of now I'm happy and living my life with a lot less pain. It was 8 weeks until I could bend over or do any twisting or anything of that sort. I couldn't get out of bed for super long because my back would become sore, but at about 8 weeks I felt fairly recovered, I did still have to lie down sometimes though when my back got sore. Good luck!
