Lower Back Problem?
Question:
Any ideas about how to get rid of this kink?
Answers:
You can't "un-kink" your back with meds or injections. It's like trying to realign your front end by putting something in the gas tank. I would suggest going to see your chiropractor. If you don't have one, talk to your friends and get a recommendation for who they go to. A good chiropractor will help you recover from even a herniated disc (they don't slip), and prevent this from happening again. It sounds like a problem with either your sacrum or pelvis. Until you get to your chiropractor, ice your back as often as you can. THe ice will decrease any inflammation (far better than any anti-inflammatories), and costs far less than meds. Try doing some lower back stretches: lay on your back and bring one knee up to your chest at a time, do the yoga stretches as mentioned by another user. Good luck.
You really need medical treatment. You probably have either a ruptured or a slipped disc. It is most likely going to get worse with aging. This condition increases with aging. The slipped disc may heal in time, but not the ruptured disc.
You might want to check with your local doctor first. You may need a muscle relaxer and a pain reliever to help you out. Good Luck
I have the same problem. Try some yoga poses on the floor. A good stretch is to lay flat on your stomach and put your arms and hands out in front of you. Lift up with your arms. This is called the cobra or open cobra. Do this slowly and switch it with child's pose. It really stretches your back out. Also try sleeping on a firmer mattress and a low elevated pillow. Good luck. I notice almost immediate results after I do this for 10 minutes or so.
I have had lower back pain for the last 5 years, mine is a bulging disk and I have had to have 2 procedures of steriod injections...don't work! and then 2 other procedures of same injections but with marcain.don't work. I would try a semi-hot bath, I seem to get more relief with that than the injections and it's less painful. It could be more serious though, if you can... see a pain specialist, I know they are expensive but they know pain and can treat you with procedures or meds or surgery, whatever you might possibly need.
