Nothing painful about it. No shots, no strange positions. It is a totally non-invasive procedure. The only time a patient of mine has been in pain is if they were already in pain due to their medical condition (for example, we are doing the study due to severe abdominal pain, or the patient has a lower back injury which makes laying on their back painful). But for the average patient, it is one of the easiest exams they will ever be through. Best wishes..

I just had the same test this week. An ultrasound is so easy and no pain what so ever. Make sure you don't eat or drink 6 hrs before your test for best results.
