What is good for treating a discolored scar?

Question:

i have a scar that doesn't match the color of the rest of my skin. its not really elevated, but its color makes it stick out. what are some good things i can get to make the color appear more even with the rest of my skin tone?

I have been using a product called Bio-oil which seems to be working.

I have thick pink scars over my hands and face from a bike accident earlier in the year and have been using this oil for the past few months. You can get it from most chemists.

before this, I had tried heaps of other creams etc but had little or no success. The bio-oil hasn't changed the thickness or the raised part of the scar, but the colour has faded and become more like the rest of my skin

I totally agree - use Bio oil. Its great stuff. I had a op in september and was left with 2 scars. ive been using bio oil since and its really helping my scars fade quickly.

Its a fairly small bottle which worried me I was being coned when I bought it but it really does last I apply it daily and im still on the same little bottle. Its great stuff!
