Cold sore is a type of herpes. Herpes simplex 1 to be exact. Usually stress will aggrevate them causing cold sore on your mouth. You can go to the physician and get an oral topical ointment and get rid of it in a few days.
You don't get cold sores in your mouth but you do get cold sores on your lips. They are caused by the herpes virus,. THey are contagious so wash you hands well anytime they are near your face and don't share food or drinks when you have one. Also do not have oral sex when you have one. The sores in your mouth are canker sores and those are different.
