Lump on the right side of my neck?

Question:
About 3 days ago I found a lump on the right side of my neck, right below my hair. It's not big and noticable, and it doesn't move around when i roll my fingers around it. It also doesn't hurt when I touch it. I don't know if it's becuase of my hair, becase it's been itching for the past 5 days. But I don't think it's lice.

Answers:
I would consult a physician just to be sure. A lump could be anything and if it's been there a while, I'd ask about it. If it is very small and is not fixed to your skin, it could be a lipoma (benign/harmless fat deposit) These range in size from .5" to 1.5". They are painless. It also could be cyst. But a cyst is usually filled with a fluid.

There are reputable medical sites that include symptom checkers. You could look at one of these, but I'd go and get it checked out.
