Ear cartilidge Rejection/absorbtion!??

Question:
I got my ear done a week or so ago, and it seemed fine for a day or two. Then it became very sore and slightly swollen, and since then the stud has become less visible, but till raised above the surface of the ear cartilidge. How can I counter-act this, and make sure it is not entirely absorbed by my ear?
(I had this happen with a lobe once and had to get it pushed out, which was painful and bloody).
Also, I have another cartilidge piercing which is about 3 months old, and in which I recently attempted to put a ball-closure ring. I got the ring in, but not the ball. Then tried to remove the ring, and couldnt. Now, I just have a ring with a gap! How should I deal with this?
Any help is very much appreciated!
Thanks

Answers:
take it out now before it needs to be removed by a doctor. for some, cartilage piercings have no problems and for others, it's not a good idea. sounds like your body may have problems with this kind of piercing. if you can't remove the ring, you should probably have a doctor take it out and check out your ears for infection. good luck.
