Fractured wrist and tingly fingers?

Question:

I broke my wrist four days ago and now it is in a cast, however, my fingers have been feeling tingly for prolonged periods of time. Is it possible that i have damaged the nerves in my hand or is there another explanation?

hi, i just wanted to say that i broke my wrist 3 wks ago and im still getting constant pins and needles, and have no use of my fingers, ive been back to the hospital and they've told me its normal for a broken wrist and to allow more time. unless ur fingers are turning colour its probably ok, but they did tell me to move my fingers as much as possible.hope this helps but if still unsure go back...get well soon

maybe you developed carpal tunnel

is it painful when you feel this?

That maybe a possiblity, or the nerves may be pinched due to swelling, try to keep your arm elevated and take something like motrin or aleve. How ever if you press down on your finger nails, when they turn white then you let go and they don't pink up right away again, your cast maybe cutting off the circulation and you need to get that taken care of NOW

nop...gto a doctor...i guess your cast is too tight...go to the emergencyroom!!
