Cartilage?

Question:
does it hurt to pierce it??

Answers:
I had my cartilage pierced and it didn't hurt at all. I also have a higher tolerance for pain because my navel piercing didn't hurt either.

The reason I left my cartilage close was because it was a very high maintenance piercing. It interfered with my sleeping position, how I bushed my hair, how I put on shirts...all around it was more trouble than it was worth.

Maybe you will have better luck.

It sometimes depends on the person. Mine hurt. But I know people that said it didn't hurt that much. It is going to hurt more than getting your earlobe pierced. Mine hurt constantly for about a week or 2 and hurts every once and awhile when I sleep on it wrong or put in a new earring.
Well it certainly will trigger the sensation of pain through the nerves, but I think it depends more which part of the cartilage you're piercing. If you just mean that top bit above there ear, it's certainly more painful than a lobe piercing, but it's not even really a bother after a few minutes.

I think what really throws people off about a lot of these piercings is that it's a different kind of pain. Not that it's any more intense than falling down or kicking a cupboard by accident, just something that isn't regularly encountered. Once you get past that, you'll be fine.
sort of. I got my ear pierced and I could hear the needle GRINDING on the cartilige and it DID hurt. I mean, it hurt bad enough that I wouldn't let her pierce my other ear.
