I sleep with my head under my pillow, never had a problem with my neck.
It's better to sleep with your head elevated because it may help with breathing problems.
You should invest in a curved pillow. I believe Tempurpedic makes one (meaning it's made out of the same material as their mattresses...which are amazing and one of the best things you can do for your body) that is curved so your neck gets support but then dips down so it's similar to sleeping without a pillow, but it ensures that your neck gets the support it needs.
same with me, but ive been told that sleeping with a pillow gives support for your head and neck, so there isn't any pressure. i think it also depends on what kind of pillow you have- down pillows, feather pillows, or firm pillows...
i sometimes do not use a pillow. it basically the actual person who can decide if you will get neck problems. if they start getting sore or start having pain, then i suggest you use a pillow. but yes it is better to use something that will elevate ur head.

I don't think it'd be a problem ...humans didn't evolve with a pillow attached to their heads. When it's really cold I like to sleep with the pillow on top of my head with my nose uncovered so I can breath (c;
I only sleep with one bad pillow but that don't bother me.
Sleeping without a pillow is a good and healthy way, you shouldn't get any neck problems. It's also good for your back, so if your comfortable without a pillow, good for you, it's perfectly healthy.
