Will I feel worse tomorrow?

Question:
I have been on MS Cottin for one year and have been weaning my dose but I have been fealing awfull ever since. I just decided to go off cold turkey and the last pill I took was yesterday at 7:30 in the morning, its now 3:30 pm the next day and I have been doing ok. I have the pain in my back and legs and my skin feels like its burning but really all else. Im doing ok. Im just wondering if the next day will be the day I hurt alot worse. Ive been up and walking around at work and just trying to stay buisy. so maybe thats why im not hurting so much. I do feel like crap but not as bad as i thought I was going to. Please let me know if im in for it. and how long i should start to feel my old self again. I can not wait for that.

Answers:
withdrawel from pain medications means that YES, you will hurt! Your whole body will hurt, but YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Plan to stay in bed ALL DAY for a couple days! Have some books by your bed, and just read, and cry your little eyes out (and YOU WILL), but, in a couple days, you will be over it, and so PROUD of yourself. Now, if you are taking this medication because of pain, then perhaps you NEED this medication and should consult a doctor first. To cold turkey is not always the best idea. But, if it was a "recreational drug" or a drug that you misused, then do whatEVER you must to get off it. You can do it!
Sounds like you are going to suffer from stopping the MS Cottin. You will be okay. Just don't take it anymore. Do you have fibro?
You should always go off a medication with help from your doc. This is from the MS-Contin insert:

Patients should be advised that if they have been receiving treatment with MS CONTIN
for more than a few weeks and cessation of therapy is indicated, it may be appropriate to
taper the MS CONTIN dose, rather than abruptly discontinue it, due to the risk of
precipitating withdrawal symptoms. Their physician can provide a dose schedule to
accomplish a gradual discontinuation of the medication.

The full insert is at the link below. I think you should call your doctor.
