How come we have boogers and what would happen if someone swallowed one?

Question:
Not that I swallowed one, but I just wanted to know ;)

Answers:
My mama always said...

Mucus and your nose hairs are there to keep things like dust and bugs from going into your nose.

Or at least that's what my mama always told me... ;o)
Uh, you swallow them all the time. Your sinuses drain down the back of your throat----you didn't know that, did you? It's called "post-nasal drip."
Mucus coats the membranes in your body. Boogers, otherwise known as mucus, runs down the back of your throat so guess what! You have swallowed tons of them. Want to go to lunch?
Boogers are just dried snot. If you swallow one, it's just like swallowing a solid form of your snot.
if you ate it it you come back out of you body as waste. buggers are dirt you body filters from you nose hair so you don't breath in dirty particles. amazing-our bodies
