Going through pain killer withdrawal..ugh!?

Question:
I was hooked on pain killers (darvocet and vicodin) for 2 years, and I am not going through withdrawal. I did taper myself off of them. Honestly, I never took more than I should, I just took them around the clock pretty much. Unless I was sleeping. I know I am doing the right thing but I am real anxious and easily agitated. Anyone else go through this?

Answers:
Oh, yes honey those are bery addictive! I had a bad car accident and took them for years but had to stop when I got pregnant. The best thing to do is this: Continue to not take them. Know that it will just be a matter of time before you start to feel "normal" again. Also, when you start to feel anxious and aggitated- remove yourself from that situation. I know it is a lot easier said than done, but to be honest, YOU CAN DO IT! You just really must want to.

Good luck girl! I have totally been in your shoes.
Well I've been on pain pills for a long time. But I've also not been on them for a long time. I'll tell ya this though, unfortunetly, that anxious and agitated feeling is just the normal feeling of being without pills, hence why we like pills so much!

Best wishes ♥
That is tough I have to go in pain meds soon and hope you the best.
Here is what I suggest to get you over the worst part of the withdrawals.

To help with the withdrawals take hot bathes with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. The skin is the biggest organ of elimination and this will help pull out the drugs. Use a loofa to clean the pores and this will help pull the drugs out even faster.

I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day and 2c. a day of fresh carrot juice, to flush the medicine out of your liver. Taking 500mg of calcium and magnesium twice a day will help you to relax.

Drink chamomile tea throughout the day and evening to help you stay relaxed.

Use a powdered fiber supplement twice daily to pull the drugs out of your intestines where they store.

A good nutrition program is very important, eating frequent small meals with some protein is very important in keeping the blood levels even.

Whole grains, seeds, nuts, yogurt, chicken, Turkey, organic beef, tofu, beans, eggs, natural cheese, cottage cheese, vegetables and fruits should form the base of your diet. Protein should be the building block of nutrition. Consuming fruits and vegetables in their most natural form provides the most minerals and vitamins. Green vegetables provide incredible minerals that our body needs to help absorb vitamins as well as necessary fiber. Fresh fruit provides minerals, fiber and natural waters that are absorbed on a cellular level.

Two of the questionnaires in this forum did follow this program to withdraw from drugs and it did help. I've enclosed a link where you can read their response to this program.
