My daughter thinks the Mucinex guy are living in her throat.HELP!?

Question:
She saw the Mucinex commerical on TV and literally thinks this little mucus guy lives in her throat so she has developed a habit of clearing her throat really loud and hard and OFTEN to make sure he can't "move into her". This is not a joke -- I counted how many times she cleared her throat today -- so far, 63 times. I am going out of my mind because it is so annoying! I have tried to reason with her and tell her that it is just a commercial and this mucus guy is not real -- she is not having any of it. I need help trying to break her of this habit. Any thoughts??

Answers:
If she doesn't listen to what you say and it gets out of hand, you might want to take her to a physiologist or have one of her friends explain to her, but then again DON'T convince your daughter's friend that there is a little guy named Mucinex in her throat. Good Luck! ~nat <3

Oh, and how old is your daughter?
Ask the doctor to speak to her maybe that will help.
wow.
that's odd.
maybe you should take her to a doctor, or something so they can explain it to her.
i really don't know.
good luck though!
Get the doctor to give her a sugar pill and tell her it's a pill to kill the mucinex man.
And i'd stop letting your kid watch tv , sound like she's pretty easily influenced
