you slept rong! i had that happen to me! i couldent move for a while. when i could move i couldent walk, i colapsed. the blood flow was cut off. it would be possible that you could get your foot amputated but the blood flow would have to be completely cut off. you couldent walk because the nerves were asleep.
You have to have like no blood flow to the foot to have it amputated. Also, if you had no blood flow it would be VERY painful!
It probably wasn't that the blood supply to your foot was getting cut off, but by laying in an awkward position or angle, you were putting pressure on it and that's how the nerves react. You probably were squishing it before you woke up and you didn't realize it.
that happens to everyone occasionally.u slept on it "the wrong way",leaned too hard on ur foot in ur sleep, causing the blood to be slightly cut off-causing a "pins and needles " sensation.after a few minutes of moving, the affected arm or leg experiences restored blood flow and u can feel and move normally again.to require amputation,u would need to be comatose and lie in one position for days/weeks.thats why in hospitals, immobile patients are turned every 2-4 hours.
It could be caused by bad blood circulation. Don't rush for anything. Try to observe it for a few days. Do some exercises such as walking but do not strain yourself. Please do not think of amputating your leg for now...think positively that it will return back to normal. After some observation and you still find it bad, consult a doctor.
Many incidences like this have happened and people recourse first to physical therapy or exercises before anything else and it helped many to recover.
I know Why! because if you did something strenous yesterday it could happen. Or may be you put too much pressure on it when youre sleeping.
