Insomnia Help Plz!?


Question:
I am a 55 yr old female former teacher turned education consultant, working as I like, in excellent health. As a rule, I sleep comfortably 6-8 hrs. each night. Bouts of insomnia lasting 7-9 days perhaps every 3 months leaves me edgy, not mentally sharp, and behind in my projects. Can someone share any wholistic or herbal suggestions to rid myself of this reacurring nightmare?!

Lavendar oil is a great relaxant. or you can burn lavendar incense. The sent of lavendar seems to help me sleep really well. The lavendar oil I like to put into my bath water and just soak for about 20 minutes.. that seems to signal to my body that it is time to sleep and the lavendar helps to knock me out cold for the night. You can also try some meditation... start with your toes and wiggle them a little... then say good night to them.. then the ankles, the knees.. work your way up the body. Let every other thought go and totally relax yourself. You can use the meditations any time you want and the lavendar scent you will only want to use for about a week at a time then try to not use it again for about two weeks.
