Go get an x-ray
There are a great many small bones in the foot, it's easy to break one. Get an x-ray before you put any more weight on it.
it could be a bone, what did the lamppost do to you.
I've had a lot of sprains and breaks to my ankles and feet. Many years ago, when I thought I had sprained my foot, I had actually broken it, and when I thought I had broken my ankle, I had just sprained it. Sprains usually hurt more than breaks, and the reason being is because when you sprain something, you have torn ligaments or ruptured tendons, where as a break, you have just broken a bone. The best way to find out is to get an X-ray. When I broke my foot I was playing basketball. I came down on it hard and twisted it. I kept playing, running up and down the court. However, I started to limp on it, and thought nothing of it. A week later I looked down at my foot/ankle and it was black, blue and purple. All the way up my leg! The pain wasn't that bad, but the damage had been done. I went to the doc and got an x-ray. Sure enough, it was broke. I was in a cast for 6 weeks. Another time I was squirrel hunting in the woods. I chased this squirrel and got my foot caught in some hole. I twisted it hard and heard a popping/crunching sound. I thought for sure I had broken my ankle because the pain was so intense. It swelled up to the size of a softball in a matter of hours. I nearly crawled back to the car and went to the hospital. I got an x-ray and the doc told me I had a bad sprain. I was given a walking air cast to use as I seen fit. The pain was extreme, but it went away in a few days. The bottom line, go get an x-ray!
Go to A&E get it x-rayed, it could be busted, I have busted mine before, but not on purpose, you goof!
