Answers:
a physical therapist could give you some great ideas for treatment! i know it's a crappy answer but if i tried to explain stuff you could do for your scoliosis you'd be reading this stuff forever! but if you want an idea for holding your shoulders back then here's what you can do. get some athletic tape and sit with good posture with your shoulders back. have someone tear off two long pieces and make an "X" on your back the top of the X near the top of your shoulder blades and the bottom about mid way down your back. When you start to slouch you'll feel that tape give a little tug and remind you to sit up! good luck!
I don't think holding your shoulders back will help your curve.Have you been to an orthopedist? I have severe scoliosis (over 60 degrees before surgery) and when I was 23 degrees they started putting me in a boston brace. I know a brace sounds terrible but it is better than surgery.
It will not matter how straight you think you are holding your back. I have perfect postue, yet still have scoliosis. Your body adapts to it, around the curve in your back bone, so you can look "normal" and your back is still going to curve.

Don't worry so much. It sucks to have back issues but life goes on. I had to have scoliosis surgury and now I dance (ballet and jazz) and don't have major back issues. You will be fine.
