i had surgery in order to repair a broken thumb, and I have what the doctor called scar tissue around the top knuckle. I've always heard the term but never really understood what it is. What is scar tissue? Can it be removed?

ligaments dont heal by replacing ligement tissue they heal by growing scar tissue. it is less elastic and therfor easier to reinjure
Scar tissue is the material that is formed to heal the wound. It can be removed, but is not usually necessary.
