try vicks vapo rub, this usually helps me when I am conjested. Benadryl also helps. What you can do, if you are desperate to take sudafed, call the dr's office, if they have an answering service, then they can page a dr and have him/her call you and tell you if you can take it.

Sudafed will probably keep you sick longer honestly...as well as other over the counter cold symptom relievers. Eat spicy food and drink echinacea tea. Theres this joice made by RW Knudsen called Lemon Ginger Echinacea juice. I usually buy 2 bottles of iot when I feel like I am getting a cold. If I drink it basically all day long, the next day I am almost better and the day after that I am fine and back to normal. I've only had 4 colds since I heard about the stuff, but all 4 times it hasnt failed me.
one of my brother's friends drank a shot of hot sauce. it was really stupid to do that, but it cleared out within 30 seconds and the cold didn't come back.
