Yes, I get pains that shoot down my legs. There are nerves that run through your groin down your legs, you cramps are probably originating where the nerves come closest to your uterus. I recommend taking ibuprofen (advil). It's an anti-inflammatory and I have found it's the best thing for me. Try taking two at first. My doctor has said that you can take up to 800mg 4 times a day (4 pills at a time). It seems like a lot, but sometimes it has be the only thing that will allow me to get to sleep at night when the pain is so bad.
my back. take midol or just a pain reliever.
It is most likely joint pain from water retention. Try taking some midol when you are feeling that way and drink lots of water, I know it sounds silly to drink water to get rid of it, but thats how it works.
At the end of your cycle a hormone called relaxin rises. This can cause loosening of ligaments. Which can lead to the kind of pain you are describing. Unfortunately, there isn't really a solution. I would suggest taking some ibuprofen as it is an anti-inflammatory and also a pain reliever. Avoid strain during that time frame.
When I was about 21 I started having pretty bad pain in my knees and legs when I was on my period. (my knees used to hurt BAD when I was a kid though.) After a few years, I finally found out that I have fibromyalgia. My doctor said that it seemed like the pain in that area got worse because of hormones and because having pain in addition to cramps was just taking it over the edge. I'm not saying that you have fibro, I'm just saying that you aren't the only one. I DO think you need to get that checked out though. You could have arthritis or something else wrong with your knees.
