Why is my hand numb? Nurses?

Sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). You should, of course, get an examination by a competent physician to be sure this is what you are experiencing. I am not a physician and cannot give medical advice. However, I have this in both wrists, and use wrist braces at night so that I don't wake up with numb fingers in the morning. I take ibuprofen to reduce inflamation when the condition acts up. These two remedial steps keep my CTS under reasonable control without surgery or stronger drugs.
Here's the Wikipedia entry on CTS:

Compare the description with your symptoms. If there is a great deal of similarity, or an exact match, I recommend seeing a physician to make sure.
Yeah i get it too man. its not good. Poor circulation. Smoking, eating fast food- trans and saturated fats.
You could possibly have a pinched nerve or some other sort of nerve damage, depends on your age and health history really.
My first guess is circulation issues. But that is a wide wide range of issues from 'falling asleep' (blood vessel compression due to position) to carpal tunnel to strokes to diabetes to sclera derma to benign capillary restriction due to temperature changes or other stimuli to compression of the ulnar nerve or an unnoticed injury.
I would definitely go to your doctor or clinic for this one... simply to rule out some of the more easily identifiable serious causes. They should be able to make recommendations as to what you should do if there are no serious issues present.
Snake bite, go get a doctor
