it depends, someones it makes no difference where yuou get hit in the knee. ligaments can be torn from hyperextension or a blow to the side. But It does matter which part of the knee got hit bECAUSE the dr has a better ieda which ligaments are torn

by being hit in the front it just hyper extends your knee and bruises your knee cap. being hit from the side can tear the ligaments that hold the knee in place.
