Can you get headaches from headbanging too much? can it get serious?

Question:
well this summer i've been spending a lot of time at concerts and singing at this place with friends, and my form of dancing is a very hayley williams-esque violent full body headbang. basically i shake my head around and my hair flies everywhere... it's pretty fun.
but now lately when i dance, every time i turn or thrust my head, i get a small pain in the front of my head, around my forehead and hairline. its not too sharp of a pain, but i'm scared i'm giving myself brain damage!

Answers:
There's an old joke that goes: a guy goes in to see his doctor and says "doctor, it hurts when I do this" (and then he demonstrates what he does to make it hurt - in your case it would be head banging) and the doctor says then stop doing that.
Your head is home to a vital part of your body, your brain. It can be easily injured. If you're in a car wreck and your head whips back and forth violently, the brain can swell and there's no room in your skull for a bigger brain so a neurosurgeon will go in and drill holes in your head to relieve the pressure. Many people die from this and other head trauma.
So yes, it can get serious, as serious as killing you.
So, stop it. Find something less harmful to do to yourself.
well of course you can hurt your brain if you move to violently
You're right, it is very fun.

Trust me, stop the head banging. I done my share of it when I was younger and I damaged my neck and I have horrible headaches.

P.S.- I also suffer from slight hearing loss due to the loud music at concerts.
Yes it can get serious...To stop those headaches simply drink two glasses of gatorade!! This wont prevent them just stop them..
yes.yes you can
Yes, you can actually give yourself whiplash doing this. Girls are actually more likely to hurt themselves while head-banging because they tend to have longer hair and in order to get the flowing movemnet of the hair, they have to exagerate the motion. You might want to give your self a bit of a break.
Rick James (superfreak) died from it!!.. stop it NOW!
Not a good idea. Best you find another way to express your enthusiasm.
Yes, it can cause damage. It's kind of like shaken baby syndrome; everytime you headbang, your brain hits the inside of your skull. Uhm, that can't be good.
yes.i gave myself whiplash headbanging.u can also screw up your neck
