When the French suggest having "une belle sante" and indicated that it is something to be worked on ...

Question:
...to be desired, are they referring to something ordinarily sought by French
people....like a regime, or going to
a spa . is it something that has to do
with beauty, is it not? A part of the
French condition that is tres recherche'?

Pardon if this Q. is naive and silly, I just wanted to know because
I saw the term used in a magazine and it was accompanied by all sorts of nice suggestions, like drinking fresh water, using fresh herbs and having fruit concoctions to drink, and having beautiful towlels and spa conditions in the home, and all the lot like that .

thank you

Answers:
Yes, the usual phrase for good health is 'bonne sante', so I imagine 'belle sante' is a bit of a play on words meaning something like 'healthy beauty' or the beauty which glows from a healthy body.
not heard this one before - its normally just bon sante.
la bon sante/la bon pour la sante its healthy/ its good for my health - does that help?
