Toenail reconstruction??

Question:
I have had a long time problem with ingrown toenails. Due to this, I had a procedure/surgery on my big toes that removed both sides of the toenail that continued growing in the skin. This is not a very lovely look for me and I was wondering if there was some type of procedure or something that can be done so that my toenail can look normal. Both of my big toe nails are very narrow now and I do not wear anything that consists of showing my toes.

Answers:
I have had the same surgery- on both toes. What they did was go down there and kill the matrix- the part of the nerve bed where the grow to the side and up. You were having problems with it (the pain was from the toe growing to far into the side) , so they killed it with a chemical. Now it only grows upward (narrower) can't undo that, honey! nobody cares about how narrow your toenail is! really! just paint it and go on with life. you might also notice that the nail will tear easier. that just come with the territory. Atleast it's not infected and digging at your raw infected and sore skin!
