Slit wrists vs hands chopped off?

Question:

What the hell! how is it that people kill themselves by slitting their wrists and when some people get their hands chopped off in some accident, they suvive? I've seen pics of people who had their hands cut off at the wrist in some industrial accident or something and survive...

Answers:
If a person lost their entire hand, cut off at the wrist and didn't seek help, they would die from blood loss. A person who slits their wrists do so in privacy when they are not likely to be found until well after they have passed on, or so they hope.

Suicide by slitting the wrists is usually performed by cutting the wrists lengthwise, opening much more of the vein

Also, the suicidal person will sit in a warm bath to do this, making the blood flow better.

It boils down to wanting to die versus wanting to live.

the reson people dont die as often from haveing there hands sliced off is because they actualy try to stop the bleeding and seek medical attetion, the reson people die when they slit there wrists is because they usualy slit down along the vein opening much larger area to bleed from, and then go sit in a tub of warm watter witch incresses blood flow, and dont seek medical attetion. its simple hands cut off in an accdent +medical help =survival, slit wrists+ no medical help= death
