The shortest and least stressful way to quit is without drugs or nicotine replacements which prolong the process. Then the day you start your quitting process, just do it, no trying... do it, and keep doing it. Always remember to focus on the benefits of quitting rather than what you think you are missing.

speak to your doctor...there is a new medication called chantix out that has a decent success rate.
The medication that most of the Pre Op patients are using is called Chantix. I say Pre Op because I belong to websit where all of us are back pain sufferers and some have had surgeries and some are Pre Op and some are Post Op, the Pre OP and Post Op that were smokers have had to quit in order to have successful fusion surgeries and some of tried various methods with various success. I used the lozenges that worked for me but I still crave but not as bad any longer and it's been 2 1/2 mos. but with the Chantix while your using it your not putting any nicotine in your system and you don't have the cravings, I wish I knew about this beforehand! It's only by prescription and this is why some of my friends on the board use it because they have a short period of time to quit before their surgery date. Good luck to you!
You need will power. Patches won't give you that. It has to come from within.
