Appendicitis!?
Question:
any tips with dealing with it? (my appendix was in me for a really long time before it got removed- it was in for so long that it had actually rottened- not sure if that makes a difference
also about the scar... anyone who has had it, is the scar noticeable when you wear a bathing suit? is it red? right now i have a huge patch over it, i can't see it until we change the cloth.
im so miserable! i can't even sit up... it hurts to walk! im lying on my bed with laptop
Answers:
it's really painful, i know i've been there. make sure that tomorrow you try walking a bit. it will HURT but it's worth it... loosening up the muscles and all. i know that for me, my back and abs got tight and started spazzing because of it. do what you can- DON'T PUSH IT! my scar is bigger than most, i won't tell you why because it's gross. it's not that noticeable in a bathing suit. it will fade with time. at first it's purple, then fades to your skin color. maybe this summer it will be noticeable, but next year it wont.
I also had my appendix removed while I was younger. Other than feeling extreme thirst after surgery, everything went fine and I was about in a couple of days. Are sure sure you didn't have peritonitis? That's an appendix which ruptured and is considered life threatening. An inflamed appendix you will know and feel for sure. I don't wear bathing suits (trunk instead) but my incision as hardly noticeable. Just don;t wear your bikinis too low. You'll be OK.
Sorry you had to have surgery. You will feel better soon. There are stronger pain meds out there, call the number you got upon discharge and tell them about your pain. Pain does not help healing and generally health care providers try to minimize pain. If you are on strong pain meds, you won't care about the computer and you will be sleeping and healing instead. Call your surgeon. Now.
