What are some reason people can be in a wheelchair without a cast or being crippled?

Question:
okay i have a project for school and i need to list 10 reasons why a teenager could be in a wheelchair. would twisted vertabrate be one? i already have cripple and cast!

Answers:
Severe sprains; cuts w/ stitches that would pull/tear when walking; equilibrium problems (dizzy spells) due to an illness such as a serious inner ear infection; narcolepsy (uncontrolled sleep attacks); cataplexy (sudden loss of muscle tone); uncontrolled fainting spells (often due to blood disorders, but also due to some brain disorders); lung infections that limit oxygen uptake; ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) often called Lou Gehrig's Disease, this is also what Stephen Hawking has; PLS (primary lateral sclerosis).
There are many reasons a person can be in a wheelchair without being in a cast, or paralyzed. They could have poor leg circulation, which would prevent them from walking long distances, they could have MS, they could have foot problems that would prevent them from being able to stand, etc...
Hope this helped. Good luck on your project!

Quite a number of these are permanent,
Well, I remember when being discharged from the hospital, with a broken leg, they sent me to the car in a wheelchair. My mom was sent to the car by wheelchair, after being discharged, after having her tubes tied.
