How long does the pain from a tetanus shot last?

Question:
I got the shot yesterday and since last night the pain has been severe- more than I would ever have guessed. I can't even move my arm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answers:
My father and I both have a terrible time with tetanus shots. My arm stays sore for over a week and his was 10 days. Put a cold compress, like a towel with ice or a bag of frozen veggies, on it and take some tylenol. You should have been told to do that at the Dr's office. Luckily it's something you don't have to get too often. Good luck.
I just got a bunch of shots before I went to Africa, one of them being tetanus. Tetanus and yellow fever in one arm...my arm was sore for a week. But maybe you better get it checked. My pain wasn't severe. Just felt like I really worked out my deltoid on that arm.
It usually lasts a few days, don't favour you arm though, keep trying to use it. Take a pain killer of choise and use an ice-pack.
