Oral surgeoin?

i have some teeth that need to be cut out of my gum, and im terrified of dentists and the local anesthetic they give you, i cant stand the pain. can i go to a oral surgeion to get my teeth fixed,. but can they put me to sleep so i cant feel the pain? thanks..

I'm the same way! so scared of the dentist but I'm sucking it up. i have to have two wisdom teeth pulled with Novocaine. my dentist told me to either take a vicodin or ibuprofen(SP) a hour before i go.but yes you can go to a oral surgeon. the will put you to sleep. you dont feel pain with Novocaine just pressure. pain is after wards :) well good luck with your teeth!. PS you might even have to go to the dentist for a referral

You need to go to an Oral Surgeon if you are afraid of the pain. Your general dentist CAN remove them but not as comfortably as an Oral Surgeon can. They can put you to sleep and you feel NOTHING. Your teeth are called impacted and they will be your best bet. They will be more expensive since they are specialists. They will send you home with good meds for pain, but you may not even need them. I work for a dentist and deal with this everyday. You need to go see an O.S. !!!!!!!!!!
