Question:
I hurt my wrist at the end of april of this year. my doctor believed it was a hematoma so they didnt do much but just give me meds. but month went by and it wasnt going away and the pain was still there. so they did surgery aug 6. of this year. when the doctor went in to do surgery he realized why i was in so much pain. it was because the nerves was all tangled up. so it been like that for months. he said the nerves stopped working because it was all wrap up in the hematoma/died tissue. he said my hand, wrist and arm will become numb at times in my life. and i wont be able to feel anything in my fingers sometimes as well. so does that mean this is a permenant injury? is it because it was so long and the nerves wasnt working? woul this be similar like Carpel tunnel syndrome?
Answers:
Sorry to hear about your injury. Now to your question, anytime there is damage to nerves...it's permanent. I can't believe the doctor let you go 4 months suffering like that. You should consulted a 2nd doctor when the pain persisted.
