I fell off a horse when I was younger. I was over confident, started galloping, fell out of the saddle and slipped sideways. As I was falling I put my arm out to try and break my fall but the pressure of my hand hitting the ground at full force resulted in me breaking the ulnar and radius in my left arm.
Luckily it was a clean break so I didn't have to have surgery to reset the bones but I did have to wear a cast for about 6 weeks.
When the cast was removed, my arm was a little smaller than it had been due to not being used as much for so long and sometimes my wrist would ache in cold weather. It's alright now though.

Having a cast as a kid is fun because your friends love to sign and draw on it. You can't really get away with that when you are an adult.
you are examined first by a radiologist.. or X-RAY is done to check the severiry of the broken bones.. and then different operation is done that depends to the broken bones...the operation is being done by a orthopedics.
i was playing soccer, went for a shot, and a defense player slide tackled me. i was just laying there in pain and my coach came over and told me to walk it off, cause i usually never get hurt. he helped me up, i put weight on it, and my ankle touched my knee with unbearable pain, ughhh it really sucked. they carried me to the side line, checked my mobility of ankle and knee questioned me and such, then took me to the hospital. they took me to get an xray, and it was a pretty bad greenstick facture mid tibia. they gave me pain meds, put me in an open leg splint because of the swelling and sent me home. had to stay home for a week man that week was awful, i couldnt move off my sofa with out crying cause of the pain i could fell the bone moving inside the splint (it never moved out of place though). it was swollen up to me knee, and if i looked inside the splint, it was really err colorful, reallyyyy bruised up, then after that week they took me back in and took another xray to check if the bone had moved out of place, and put me in a short leg cast. stayed in it for 6 weeks, then they took me back in, took it off then xrayed again. i used my crutches for two or three days after my cast was off, as insturcted by my doctor, then i could walk. my ankle was really stiff, and i had a limp for two months. but i couldnt run for three and a half. i still have a painful lump on my leg where it broke, but other wise no complications. if you have any questions feel free to email me =]
