Insect bite?

Question:
I was recently bit by an insect/bug. The affected area swelled quite a bit and I couldn't sleep and felt very anxious. My doctor said I was fine and that the bite did not cause my symptoms. The bite left a scar on my shoulder, and I really think it did cause the symptoms. Does anyone know of an insect that would cause the type of symptoms I had? Thanks!

Answers:
I have allergies to insect bites. There are various reactions to look for. What you experienced was a minor reaction. You have nothing to worry about. The scare will eventually go away.

When I get stings or bites I swell up, become very hot, break out in welts and my throat begins to close. If your reaction was this serious you should take a benadryl immediately and call 911.
Consult another doctor for a second opinion. One of my friend once bitten by an insect and she took it casually and had to go for a surgery the rafter.
