Bowel Movement?

Question:
I have always been about a every other day bathroom person, but about three months ago I started dieting and exercising. I have gone from 256 lbs to 209 lbs so far and am only eating about 1200 calories five days out of the week, the other two days I relax on the diet a bit. I eat healthy, no fired food, chichen (baked or grilled) and plenty of fruits and veggies. The problem is it has become longer and longer between bowel movements. It has currently been six days since the last time I went. I am not experiencing any pain and dont even feel as if I need to go. Also, Im 24 years old and exercise almost everyday, liftweights, run and/or cycle. Is this a problem? Am I just burning way more calories than I am taking and and that is why there is no waste?

Answers:
Because of the eating habits improving, you are eating healthier, less waste- your body is absorbing and burning it off where as before you were not as active and ate more junk-like foods which is more waste and more of a stimulant for your colon.
I know the more active I am, the less I go too- Unless it poses a problem I would not worry about it, once your body gets used to this new routine I would think it will go back to a more normal schedule.
6 days?!?! damn dude, uhh im no doctor but thats a long time and i recomend laxitives or something

6 days?!?!?
MAKE SURE YOU ARE DRINKING YOUR 8 GLASSES OF WATER A DAY, THIS HELPS WITH THE BOWELS. EAT LOTS OF RICH GREEN VEGETABLES SUCH AS SPINACH. TAKE A STOOL SOFTENER EVERY NIGHT BEFORE BEDTIME. THERE ARE SOME VERY GENTLE STOOL SOFTENERS THAT CAUSE NO STOMACH DISCOMFORT. IT IS NOT GOOD TO HAVE A BOWEL MOVEMENT EVERY OTHER DAY LET ALONE 6 DAYS. THIS IS HARD ON THE COLON , THAT CAN LEAD TO MORE PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE. AND AS FAR AS NOW YOU NEED TO GET YOURSELF TO GO, IF NOT YOUR BOWELS CAN LOCK UP OR IT CAN CAUSE AND OBSTRUCTION.
6 days is a long time, man. Give yourself an enema and get rid of the junk. (Use distilled water. Or if you know how to, do a coffee enema -- but only if you know all there is to know about coffee enemas.)
Start eating Dannon's Activa -
but get the ACTIVA LIGHT -
it has less Sugar in it.
It really seems to work.
I had trouble finding it and eventually found it at Metropolitan Market in the Yogurt Section.
It is a must to defecate if you eat since all the food eat will not be converted into energy. It is impossible. So you are having constipation. Drink lot of water at least 18 glasses of water daily. If water is less in your diet then you may constipate.
First of all, 1200 calories is too little and dangerous. Do some research online about BMR and the Harris-Benedict Formula to come up with your proper caloric need.

Second, you should be defecating everyday, especially if you're doing everything right on your nutrition/exercise program.

Third, if you're eating red meat, even though it is lean, it takes 3 days to digest it. This will slow your intestinal tract down. In addition, if it stays in your intestinal tract longer than 3 days, it causes poisons to be absorbed by your body in the small intestine rather than nutrients.

Essentially, what you have occurring in your body is putrefaction rather than digestion.

You should see a doctor to make sure you don't have an impaction or some underlying condition. Then if you get the clear from he/she, start with an enema and then stool softeners. Make sure you drink 8 glasses of water per day.

You're probably exercising too much, you're expending all the calories you eat. Therefore, there isn't any nutrition left for bodily functions. That's how people become anorexic. Many people who go on DIETS do just that. They starve their bodies without realizing it.

You need to find out the amount of calories your body needs to EXIST without exercise. The Harris-Benedict Formula will help you determine that. Then you use equations to determine your caloric need to maintain your weight based on your activity level and subtract 500 calories from that.
