if the redness is 5mm or more away from the wound it is infected... but the puss is the dead giveaway... go to the doctor or minor injuries unit at hosiptal and get it sorted. there may have been something in the water at the creek that could of infected it even though you thought you had sanitized...also the pain shows a bad infection... it may even have something in it and the puss is forming to get it out. so go and see someone about it! hope this helps!! get better soon.

youll have to get to the doc for antibiotics...it only takes a minute...but if theres pus you have to go on some antibiotics...it;ll clear up soon after.until then keep it clean and keep clean dressing everyday.clean it with detol and water.
Go to the ER, Doctor, or Urgent Care ASAP! If its that bad and has been this long, you are past anything you can do yourself. They will probably open it and drain it and if needed stitch it up and give you some antibiotics. Do it sooner than later because it sounds like its infected and the infection can spread fast.

even though you sanitized it, you can still have bacteria in your wound. Given the severity of your discription, you need to go to the dr. and get it checked out!
I would make a Dr. Appointment or even just calling your Dr. and asking there advice. You can try cleaning it out couple times a day.
