Nelly I take it you are quite young however, everyone needs at least 8 hours sleep so as to enable your body to repair it's self from the vigours of life.
As we get older we require less sleep apparently but I dispute this claim as I still need my sleep to function properly. I know this because I used to exist on just 4 hours sleep until one day I became very ill and suffered from sleep deprivation. I can tell you not only is this very damaging to your health but psychologically it is very bad for your mental health.
The trouble with the lack of sleep is that your body gets accustomed to it and it becomes a habit hard to break. So my advice to you is try and get into a healthy sleeping pattern. Even if you just lay in your bed and read a good book with a warm drink your body is relaxed.
My hubby is like you...but just recently he has become very bad tempered and I'm sure it's due to lack of sleep and he relies on an adrenaline rush to see him through the day.
Why not try some yoga to help you to unwind.
Good question by the way!

Try sleeping at least 6 hours a day or else, try oversleeping at weekends (or at the very least, 6 hours or more). Meditating might help you feel less tired and more alert (and you can do this in less than half an hour).
