Has anyone ever trapped a nerve in their neck?

Question:
I have ongoing back and neck problems. The bones in my neck move out of place and need putting back regularly by a chiropractor. I haven't been for a while as it's so expensive. I woke up a few days ago with what felt like a trapped nerve down the right hand/back of my neck. 3 days later and I can't move my head properly and it is very painful. Also hurts down into my right shoulder. Has anyone else ever truly trapped a nerve in their neck and if so what was the treatment? xx

Answers:
Hi,
Yes I trapped a nerve in my neck a few years ago. All I was doing was crossing the road and then loads of pain down my shoulder and arm, especially when I tried to move my head!
The best treatment is to just rest it and no sudden movements. I know this sounds like a boring solution, but it helped me.
If pain persisits for a week or more then you should go and see a doctor who will probably put you in touch with a physiotherapist.
Also, pain killers are going to help, but don't overdo them!
Hope it clears up soon.
You should ge a tens machine- they don't cost much, you could probably get one from ebay- you can even get replacement pads on ebay- quitecheaply. I find that works wonders on my neck.
I have slightly pinched part of a nerve in my neck. It is very painful and lasts for days. The only thing I could do was take something for the pain and to help relax the muscles that were tightening up because of the pain in the area (neck and radiating down the one arm). I also went to physical therapy to learn techniques to relax the muscles and stretch everything properly. It basically just took time for mine to fix itself and I need to be careful of what I'm doing with my neck to try to avoid it happening again. (this is the second time it's happened to me)
I haven't, but my best friend did when she dislocated a disc in her back. For the past year, she has been wearing insoles in her shoes, to try and re-align her hips and make her neck better. I think it was her GP who referred her to a paediatrician so maybe you need to contact your GP first.
