Haven't slept in 3 days?

Question:
i haven't slept in 3 days. but, i'm still wide awake. No one can tell (i don't think) because i have always had bags under my eyes & there still isn't any discoloration. Any ideas? I don't want to take any medication because i seriously cannot swallow pills.

Answers:
3 days is how long the military determined before you start getting loopy. I'm loopy after being up for 28 hours. Do whatever you want, don't worry about it, stay up all night tonight and watch tv. you did 3 days 4 would be crazy.
Try doing something that would normally wear you out, such as a puzzle or game. When I can't sleep, I play video games and that helps. Hope you can get some sleep soon!
well...are you eating a lot at night? drinking caffeine? Is it that you goto bed but can't fall asleep? Have someone give you a massage or something. Watch a movie until u fall asleep.or take some sleeping pills (i know u can't swallow...i thought i couldn't either but i did it when I had to)

finally see a doctor
get the chewable pills or you can crunch them up and put them in food. I dont know why you cant sleep but you do need it
When I can't sleep, I turn OFF the computer, climb into bed, and listen to the softest classical music to clear my head. I concentrate on only the music... Unless you've had caffeine recently, it should work like a charm.
look up insomnia. I have trouble falling asleep every night too. It's horrible.

Your best bet if you don't like swallow pills is to try a liquid PM medication. (Tylenol PM etc.) They don't do much for me, but hopefully they will help you out.

Otherwise, try to do some fast-paced exercise. If you get your blood and adrenaline pumping, you'll be wired for about 6 hours and then come crashing down. Sometimes that change can cause you to fall asleep.

Something like running fast for 10-20 minutes is good, but the idea is to get yourself into that good-feeling of exercising, not the "omg I'm gonna die" feeling. Try to do something you find fun. If you know a sport that you like, that's perfect. The idea is to get the adrenaline, so if you think of a way other than exercise to do that, go for it.

Another thing you could do is take a warm bath, when you get out of the bath and start cooling off your body will naturally want to go to sleep. It’s not hibernation, but it's a similar reaction.

I might suggest you do all three of these things, just remember to take any medications after the bath. You don't want to fall asleep in water. The ideal plan would be to exercise around noon, take your bath around 8, and then the medication around 8:30, hopefully falling asleep around 9.

For how long you've stayed up, you'll want to sleep a longer amount of time that usual to make up for your sleep loss. Keep in mind that sleep debt stacks up, and your body needs 1 hour of sleep for every 2 hours of awake time. (That’s why we sleep 8 hours and stay awake 16)

You could also go to a local vitamin place (Mother's Market, Henrys, Vitamin Shoppe, etc.) and ask them about some natural stuff that might help you sleep. I think I've heard of certain Teas that will help you sleep, though I haven't tried them myself.

Good Luck! I hope this doesn't become a long term problem for you. Sleep is as important as food to the human body, and that's a proven fact.

UPDATE: I'm sorry, hopefully one of the other 3 tips I gave you will help you out then. Best of luck :)
