Last week I had a windsurf board dropped on the back off my ankle. . .?

Question:
It bruised and started swelling imediatly but i could still walk on in. The next day it was a little stiff but otherwise fine. Now about a week and a half later the bruise is gone but there is still a bump just above where my achillies tendon joines the bone that is really painfull to touch but doesn't hurt when I walk. And it hurts to flex my foot. Did I injure my achillies tendon in some way? And if so is it safe to do pointe work in ballet?

Answers:
You have a contusion (fancy name for bruise) to the area that resulted in fluid which is the bump. A rule that you should follow now is if it hurts to do then dont do it...that is especially true for doing pointe. You should be stretching the calf muscle gently everyday until it no longer hurts to flex your foot. If not then things will stiffen up and you may have more problems in the near future.
Take a little time off of it, going on pointe wouldn't be a good idea
well i dont know anything about ballet. but i would go see a docter and see if there is any medication he can give you to heal the bump. once in gymnastics, i had fallen on my wrist and the same thing happened to me. i went to the docters and he have me some kind of medician and within a week it wuzz back to normal. HOpe i helped!!
its probly just a bruise but...

you probably shouldnt do any pointe work until you see a doctor and know for sure
