Displaced fracture?

Question:
i fractured my wrist at the weekend i recieved surgery to reposition the bone can anyone tell me how long i can expect to be off work my job entails looking after the personal needs of elderly dementia sufferers

Answers:
Displaced is good though it doesn't sound it , now it is re-aligned it should heal very quickly , I guess 2 weeks and it will have healed enough to stop hurting then the cast stays on for another 4 weeks just to be on the safe side .

Of course all breaks are different and if you seem to eager to get back to work you will frighten your surgeon into thinking if he lets you go back he'll end up having to fix it again .

Play it cool and mention light duties as often as possible and you could be back at work before you know it .

Hope this cheers you a bit good luck .
Depends on how much of your work is physical labor. If you have to move them around much, you are looking at 6-8 weeks.

Ask your doctor about it and he/she should be able to get you a note specifically indicating when you can go back to work on limited duty and full duty.
