Cut problem ?
Question:
thx.
Answers:
A similar thing happened to me when I was a lot younger. Cat scratched the hell out of my hand and lower forearm. I thought I had it all clean and completely taken care of. I was wrong. I ended up with 'cat scratch fever' and had to get a swollen lymph node (larger than a golf ball) removed from under my arm. It was even more painful than the cuts themselves. The doctor told me that if I would have immediately gone to the ER, I wouldn't have gotten an infected lymph node and had to get it removed.
My advice to you is to go directly to your doctor or ER.
If it's really big, it's most probably still bleeding. If it's a superficial wound, it'll have stopped bleeding by this time. Wash the wound under running water, apply some iodine on it, and leave it to heal on its own. If the bleeding doesn't stop, the cut is deeper, and requires medical attention. Depending on how active outdoors your cat is, you might need a prophylactic tetanus jab.
i would use either noesporin -or really good triple antibiotic then cover it with gauze bandage -so you dont get infection-but rarely do people get really sick from a cat scratch-im not saying impossible but not probable
I would clean it really good with water and peroxide, then apply an ointment such as neosporin, and allow it to heal, if it doesn't stop bleeding than you may need more than this. Also you should probably speak with your doctor's office about a tetnus shot if your cat is an outside cat.
