Is it just right around your elbow? You could have what is medically called "Tennis Elbow". It is a medical diagnosis of an overstrain of the tendons around the elbow. Usually caused by exercise or sports.

What to do? Usually anti-inflammatories is the first step like motrin, ibuprofen, even Aleve will work. You also need to

ice it and heat it...that means apply ice and apply heat. Do this by changing or alternating it every 15 minutes for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.

Go to your local drug store. There is a elbow brace you can buy it is just like a thick velcro band that you adjust that goes up high above the forearm near the elbow. Use this to help relieve some pressure.

If you notice after 2-3 weeks if hasn't gotten any better then go see a doctor to make sure you haven't torn anything.

Oh and for playing basketball...stop for at least 1-2 weeks...you have to let it rest or it will not get better. It's an injury that needs to heal! You have to do what you have to do.

This is a site for you to look at regarding the tennis elbow, what is it, how to treat it and what causes it!
