HELP! I fractured my ankle and I need it to heal...quick!?

Question:
I am 17, a dancer, also on my high school drill team. I had surgery in June for a neuroma and it healed pretty quick. I had just gotten back into the world of dance and I fractured my ankle. Not only has this been a physical stress, it has also been emotionally draining on my part. Dance is my life and it is my senior year. I really need advice about anything at this point. For six weeks I will be in a cast so I don't think I'll be going to school for that long. I will homeschool. What is your opinion, your advice, and how can I recover?

Answers:
Unfortuantly nothing can make your bones heal faster. Time heals all wounds.
Don't know why you can't go to school in a cast? If you keep it too immobile then it will be harder to start using it and a longer recovery period when the cast comes off. Did you ask your doctor any of these questions?
This is a true story: my daughter injured her ankle at work 5 weeks before her wedding (6/9/07). She had to hobble down the aisle--they couldn't cast because it was an inflammation of the muscle--she had to use crutches to get up the stairs, and she couldn't dance at her wedding....I'm telling you this because you think your injury is the end of the world for you, as you see above, it could be worse, now could you handle having this happen for your wedding day?...suck it up, you're an adult and deal with it...sorry, but there's nothing you can do about it, just like there was nothing my daughter could do about her ankle..it's life, it is was it is.
Call the ambulance
You better sit your hind end down and rest.Dancing is not your life, you only think that it is.Your life is in the living of it,not in the filling of it by dance or anything else that injures you by over doing it.
To be emotionally drained by not being able to do something sounds like an addiction problem.
You are setting yourself up for more and worse problems if you do not control this.I mean it,ask yourself what will happen if you can't dance for a couple of months.
BTW--there is no reason why you cannot go to school with a cast on.
So what if you have to go to school in a cast?Others have and do.You need to get real baby cakes.
you're going to need to go to dcotors and get a knee cast, ti wotn heal that quickly as you want ti to but at least you're doing sumthing to help it make the knee better.
