I have a huge knot on my lip. It hurts like nothing I have ever felt before. I do get cold sores every now and then. I started getting them back when I was an avid athelet. But all the cold sores i have had started off like zits but then became scabby and spread across my lip-gross i know! but this knot on my lip is killing me and want go away no matter what kind of treatment i use and i have had it for about a week. is this a cold sore or something else and how can i get rid of it or atleast the pain.

L-Lysine supposedly helps to prevent them, I'm a little skeptical. You may need to get a prescription for this. Most people don't realize that cold sores like this are caused by Herpes simplex type 1 virus. The doc can give you a topical med and an oral anti-viral.
