What is best method to stop smoking?
Question:
i am quite ill and under weight only 7 stone ( i think in kg's thats 48kg) so i am worried about nicotine patches so amonst all methods to quit what worked best for you (not including only willpower)

Quit.. Your ability to quit is in direct relation with your desire to live. You want to live bad enough, you'll find the strength to quit.
When you want to smoke - eat something & than your stop smoking & put on weight!

My wife has no willpower but wanted to give up smoking.
January 2005 she started cutting down by one cigarette every month.By the end of the year she had quit and has not smoked since nor felt the desire except one time when she was nervous at a singing audition.

dont stop right away, you have to do it slowly.. try 3 sticks per day until you think that you can stop it!
Does your doctors have a nurse who speciality it is to help you? If so go as if you are lucky like i am you will have brill support, i have gone from 50 per day to none and have been a no smoker for 2months and 2 weeks. The only thing is you can smell better and when you stand against someone who is either smoking of just finished one you will feel sick, but believe me it really is worth giving up. You sound a very young person and i am not so young so take it from some one who's been a smoker for a very long time it's great to not smoke. Plus there are several ways of giving up the old ciggy, and yes you do gain weight so that will help you
i smoked for over 40 years and tried all sorts of aids to stop the addiction- hypnosis - patches- gum -acupuncture- all failed long term .

It sounds simple but it worked for me - stop buying them.
I smoked for 20 years - I tried to give up many times and one day thought, this is it. I am simply not buying them anymore - if you haven't got them you can't smoke them. It worked - six months on - no ciggies. I have forgotten I ever smoked now.
I am sorry, but you will have to have some sort of willpower - even with patches. You have to want to stop smoking.
I have heard that chewing on cinnamon sticks when you get the desire to smoke helps. That's how my friend quit about 5 years ago.
