Is it a good idea to put an open wound into sea water, to make it heal faster?

Question:
if the open wound is not big, more like a scratch
and i don't mean holding the wound there 24 hours...

Answers:
It hurts but it does clean it out. It won't hurt it, but be sure to rinse it off with fresk water after you get out. Salt does help it heal.
i dont see any problem because salt does keep things from getting infected. i think you would be fine. :)
NO! Don't do that , I saw a few days ago that there's a new virus in the ocean that can infect open wounds
um... ya, no... there's a lot of icky germy things in the ocean... try a home made salt water concoction, or just a teaspoon of salt over the scratch, that's what Mom always did... or hydrogen peroxide, that's supposed to help too... and a band aide, those are always fun!
