School sleep pattern?

Question:
being a teenager, it almost seems natural staying up til 1 or 2 in the morning during summer. well, school starts in 2 weeks for me. is there anyway i can get into a routine sleep pattern for school?

but then there is another thing, i can be dead tired and want to go to bed, but as soon as i lay down to sleep, i'm wide awake, and sometimes dont end up falling asleep til 3 or 4 when i have to get up at 5 on weekends... help! ((gimme advice for both with AND with out sleep aides and which one is the best))

Answers:
i cant really help you because im the same way. i have trouble sleeping at night. you just need to go to bed at the same time every night so your body gets used to going to bed at that time.
I think what you are experiencing is called going past the point of no return. My kids do this when they are tired and if they cross that point it makes it harder for them to relax and fall asleep. What you need to do is set a time say 11:00 and go lay down and read a little or listen to some soft music. Also make sure you set you clock and get up at the same time every day. Adjust it to an earlier time every couple of days until you're back at the point where you need to be when school starts. No matter what don't sleep in. I might make you more tired by the time bedtime rolls around. Good luck!
Being a college student with a similar sleep schedule I know how it could be.
The only way I could get back to a good sleep schedule is to start waking up early. By evening you'll start getting sleepy and don't fight it. If you start waking up earlier, you get tired earlier, and then you get to bed earlier. It takes some time to adjust, but it works.
