Chest pain?

Question:
In my hockey game, I got checked pretty hard at center ice and after that i started getting sharp pain in my throat, and then eventually i felt it bad in my upper chest. I kept playing and it hurt everytime i took a stride, the pain is moderate right now, i still have moderate pain in my throat when i swallow. what could this possibly be? could it be serious that I need to see a doctor?

Answers:
i would make an appt within the next 24-48 hours to see your dr. it sounds like you've bruised the muscles in your chest and neck area causing soreness but it could be something more serious considering it hurts when you swallow.

report to the er immediately or call 911 if

-you begin to have difficulty breathing
-you have severe chest pain
-experience palpitations (rapid heart beat)
-feel faint or dizzy

for pain you can take (if not allergic) ibuprofen. it has an anti-inflammatory in it to help reduce swelling. take 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours

hope you feel better soon!!
Yes I would see a Dr.Pain is the body's way of letting you know some thing's wrong.
i reckon a dr would be a really good thing. i can't believe that you haven't been already. go now, quick , run. no don't run but go and get it checked out. a blunt chest injury can be really serious. go and see a dr, please.
